Call for Proposals

1. Open Conference
Submissions are open to JALT and non-JALT members alike.
 
2. Presentation Content
We invite proposals that will discuss study abroad both outbound and inbound. Presentations may be delivered in English or Japanese. Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
  • Best practices in study abroad
  • Study abroad risk management
  • Effectiveness of study abroad
  • Student experiences
 
3. Session Types
Sessions will be face-to-face on campus at Kinjo Gakuin University in Moriyama-ku, Nagoya. Research-based presentations and skills workshops are 30-minute blocks which include Q&A. Sessions may be delivered in either English or Japanese.

  • Research-Based Presentation - 30 minutes including Q&A and setup/pack down
  • Skills Workshop - 30 minutes including Q&A and setup/pack down
  • Poster Presentation - 40 minutes
 
(A research-based presentation should be based on theory or research, either already completed or in progress. A skills workshop should involve a practical demonstration or explanation of a class activity or process. If you are unsure which fits best, please just select the one you think seems closest – we can always change it later.)
 
4. Application
Please submit your proposal by clicking the "Submit a Presentation Proposal" button below. The deadline has been extended to Sunday, September 15th.

*Please prepare the abstract in the language you will deliver.
*English abstract: 75-150 words
*Japanese abstract: 150-200 characters 

You are also invited to submit an extended abstract (250-500 English words or 500-1000 Japanese characters) for publication in the SA-SIG Conference Proceedings.
 
Notification of Acceptance: You will be notified of the acceptance or rejection of your proposal within 14 days of submission.

発表募集

1. オープンカンファレンス
JALT会員、非会員を問わず応募できます。
 
2. 発表内容
アウトバウンド、インバウンドを問わず、留学に関する発表を募集します。発表言語は日本語または英語とします。テーマは以下の通りです（以下に限らない）：
  • 留学におけるベストプラクティス
  • 留学のリスク管理
  • 留学の効果
  • 学生の経験
 
3. セッションの種類
セッションは名古屋守山区にある金城学院大学で対面式で行われます。研究発表やスキル・ワークショップはQ&Aを含む30分の枠です。セッションは英語でも日本語でも実施可能です。

  • 研究発表（口頭発表） - 質疑応答と設営/撤収付けを含めて30分
  • スキル・ワークショップ - 質疑応答と設営/撤収付けを含めて30分
  • ポスター発表 - 40分
 
（研究発表は、完了済みまたは進行中の理論や研究に基づく必要があります。スキルワークショップは、クラス活動やプロセスの実演や説明を含むべきです。どちらが適しているか迷った場合は、最も近いと思うものを選んでください。後で変更することもできますので、ご安心ください。）
